Happy Valentine's Day and a trip to Miami!

Ready for take off!
Happy (late) Valentine's Day!  Since Lucy is in preschool this year, she got to decorate her own Valentine's Box for her school friends to deliver Valentine's into...oh so much glitter!  She chose Frozen Valentine's for the girls and Paw Patrol for the boys...with a few Pete the Cat Valentine's and homemade cards for her special non-school friends.  We also went to the Valentine's Dance at her preschool (a fundraiser for their programs) with one of our neighbors.  What  fun Valentine's Day!!

Aahhh! Sand and salt water...love it!

We took a quick trip to Miami the week after Valentine's Day to stay with some friends there...who happen to have a little boy just a few months older than Lucy!  What a treat to get some beautiful 75 degree weather, be able to go to the beach and kick back and relax a little bit in the midst of winter here in Minnesota!

Cheesing with mom at breakfast...she thought eating outside next to the pigeons was pretty cool!

Chillin' with Great Aunt Rita waiting for lunchtime!

Today is Leap Day...the official anniversary of when we got THE CALL about Lucy's diagnosis.  Not an anniversary we necessarily want to celebrate, but a day that reminds us of how far Lucy has come from the great unknown of a in-utero diagnosis.

She is very curious, a bit mischievous, and FULL of imagination.  She is often changing the names of her dollies and stuffed animals to fit whatever we are playing for that day.  She loves to try to read things and actually recognizes quite a few words...others she guesses based on the letter they start with and how long they are.  She is often goofy and we can't help but laugh out loud at the wacky things she says sometimes.  She often uses the phrase, "that doesn't seem right to me." when something is a little bit off - like she put her sock on upside down or there is milk spilled on her plate or whatever. HAHA!

Did you know that chapstick will stick to a wall?  Because of Lucy's curiosity, we now do!!
(Also, can you believe we've gone 2 months without a doctor update about Lucy...how awesome is that?  She is such a rockstar and doing so, so great!)
