Where Did Elmo Go?

Enjoying the warm weather (no matter how brief it was!)
Lucy's current favorite game is "Where did_____ Go?"  You fill in the blank...it can be Elmo (one of her favorite versions), the lion, your baby, mama, your cracker, etc, etc, etc.  She's actually pretty terrible at hiding objects, but it's a fun game anyways!  Elmo is usually hiding with his zoo friends, or in the bath or under a pillow, but every once in awhile we have to hunt a few days to find him...he is usually somewhere he shouldn't be...like in the utensil drawer or with the pots and pans!

We also have a pesky "Bee" in our bathroom every once in awhile!

In additional to hiding her toys and running up and down the hallways at home, Lucy's has been interested in screen time...phones, TV, laptops, you name it!  She likes the colors, sounds, movement, everything! Her attention span is getting longer, so she will actually sit and watch something for 5 minutes at a time before she moves on to the next thing!  Really, I think she likes to do whatever mommy and daddy do!  She often takes over daddy's desk when he is travelling:

...and she has figured out how to work the Sesame Street website if my laptop is unattended:

...and when I try to take her picture, she often has this reaction (This is really a rare face for Lucy...she is SO easy-going and is not at all a crier!).

Have I mentioned recently what a fun age this is?  Lucy's joy for life, love and happiness is such a good reminder for us about enjoying life to the fullest too and it's impossible to be in a bad mood with her around!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a very fun week decorating valentines, wearing all of our shirts with hearts on them and even went to a Valentine's dance today!

Posing in the window sill...which she discovered she can climb up into!!
The Early Childhood program office in our school district puts on a silent auction and Valentine's dance as a fundraiser, so Lucy and I checked it out today.  She LOVED the music and all the other kiddos dancing their little hearts out!  She also took some time to decorate the craft table and run away from me whenever possible!
Noshing on a Valentine's cookie before joining the dancers!

Serious concentration at the craft table!
We are also busy crawling under/through anything we can (and even some things we can't), and still LOVE teeth brushing!

Dead End!

Brushing teeth in her favorite pajamas! (She loves zebras...)

Esophagus Dilatation #14

Winter boots but no pants?!?!?
Well, we are STILL at a 10 on the esophagus dilatation size, but we are going to extend the time between dilatations from 4 weeks to 5 or 6 weeks.  Baby steps to the end goal, right?  As you can imagine, we are trying to be patient in the midst of this very long journey to Lucy's ability to eat "normally," but it is difficult!  Now that we have figured out what works for her from a food perspective and we rarely have issues with food getting caught, I need to remind myself to help her continue to expand her palate and try new things that we think she will be able to successfully eat.

Lucy LOVES getting to take trips in the car ("Go, go go" as she says!), so we feel a little bad when we take her to the hospital and she is so excited...but she does get to play with toys, meet other little patients and get loved up by all the nurses, so it's not ALL bad for her, I guess!

Helping me sort laundry?
Otherwise, she is doing great and we are holding on to the hope of warmer weather coming by playing on the slide in the basement, giving her monkey rides in the swing and relaxing in a nice warm bath at the end of the day!

Every once in awhile, Lucy will be VERY quiet in her room by herself - we usually find her reading books or admiring herself in the mirror!
